MVH South Women’s Center Named for Innovative Physician

“We are very excited and thankful to Dr. and Mrs. Daneshjoo for placing their name on the center and for establishing a nursing endowment,” said Joann Ringer, president of Miami Valley Hospital South. “His support is invaluable in helping us provide educational opportunities for our nursing staff and for allowing us to better serve our patients by expanding the advanced care we provide at our campus.”

An ardent proponent of philanthropy, Dr. Daneshjoo has a long history with the MVH Foundation, including serving as a member of the board of trustees from 1989 to 2000. While still in practice, he established three charitable trusts through the Foundation long before his significant gift in association with the Women’s Center and the endowment.

“In addition to his many other contributions, we are grateful for Dr. Daneshjoo’s generosity in creating the nursing education endowment,” said Jenny Lewis, president of the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation and Good Samaritan Foundation-Dayton. “He recognized the importance of the phenomenal nursing staff that provided care for his patients. Funding for clinical education is vital in allowing MVH to continue to provide exceptional nursing care.”

On the occasion of the Women’s Center being named in his honor, Dr. Daneshjoo reflected on his career. “I was very dedicated to the Valley, and the Valley was good to me,” he says. “If I had my life to do over, I would repeat everything I have done without any degree of change. I am very pleased that my wife and I will be remembered as part of the hospital’s legacy in this very special way.”
