Mueller Society Department Grant Guidelines
In an effort to be cost-effective with the available funds while impacting as many patients, employees and volunteers as possible, the committee has developed the following guidelines for applicants.
The primary purpose of Department Grants is to advance the quality of patient care, and/or improve the atmosphere or working conditions of Miami Valley Hospital employee, patients and volunteers. Grants are intended as short-term, emergency funds for use between budget cycles. Grants are awarded one time in amounts up to $2,000.
Capital Budget Items
The Department Grants committee receives numerous requests for items that should be purchased through individual departments’ capital budgets. If your request could be considered such an expenditure, please be sure to carefully explain why the item is needed urgently outside of the normal capital budget process.
The committee does not accept requests for educational funding or to pay for travel expenses for individuals.
Patient Education Materials
The committee will not consider funding requests for patient education materials unless the materials have been approved by the MVH Patient Education Committee based in the Premier Health Learning Institute/Craig Memorial Library.
Parties / Appliances
The committee has decided that, in general, no requests will be funded for party supplies or anniversary celebrations of any type, or for kitchen appliances such as coffee makers, microwave ovens, refrigerators and the like.
Software / Hardware
If you are requesting funds for software, you must complete the following and submit it along with your application.
