Enhancing the Healing Experience: Donor Opportunities at Miami Valley Hospital South

Giving Opportunities to Enhancing Healing Through Mind, Body and Spirit

As construction continues on the Spine and Joint Center of Excellence at Miami Valley Hospital South, the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation is seeking community support to enhance the healing experience for patients at the new center. Contributions from the public are essential in funding three patient-centered projects at the south campus: providing a soothing and healing atmosphere in the public areas of the new facility; the development of an all-new outdoor health and wellness area; and the construction of a non-denominational, interfaith chapel at Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville.

Spine and Joint Center of Excellence Public Areas

Donor opportunities will include:

  • artwork and furnishings throughout the new building
  • naming rights for the overall facility and for specific areas inside (including spaces and visitor lounges in the Surgery and Cath Lab/MRI areas)
  • an elegant two-story sculpture in the main entryway
  • a warm and inviting two-sided fireplace in the orthopedic surgery waiting area

It is important to note that these special amenities will only be available through support from the community.

Miami Valley Hospital South Chapel

Since the opening of Miami Valley Hospital South in 2007, patients, visitors and staff have expressed great interest in having a larger formal, interfaith chapel available on the campus. The religious tradition at Miami Valley Hospital goes back to the hospital’s founding by the Reverend Carl Mueller in 1890. Donor availabilities for the chapel would include:

  • Furnishings
  • Artwork
  • Naming rights for the chapel

Completing a chapel is an essential component in creating a healing nexus of body, mind and spirit for patients at the south campus.

Other Giving Opportunities

Opportunities also exist to create donor-supported endowments for staff education. There is an ongoing need to provide funding for hospital staff to engage in educational courses to maintain core competencies and to stay up-to-date on the latest protocols and research in each clinical discipline.

Unfortunately, construction budgets can never fully include everything desired for patients and families. Without donor support, the projects listed above would not be available. Donor contributions make these improvements and enhancements available for all; that’s why your help is needed to turn these dreams into reality for Miami Valley Hospital patients. Thank you for your consideration of support!
